Hummingbird Circle ~ Modern Mala in Sterling

This sterling silver Hummingbird Circle is my most contemporary interpretation of a Mala. High polished and bright, she holds a chrome diopside stone at her eye — vivid green, full of life. I carved her as a reminder of presence. A pause in mid flight. A moment of stillness inside motion.

Her reverse side carries an ancient mark, a symbol imagined as if it were painted on stone by the hands of the first storytellers.

The gemstones for this mala were chosen for their clarity and refinement. Amethyst, green aventurine, and tiny moonstones, each bead individually tied on delicate silk. Sterling silver beads add brightness and balance. Two sterling silver basket spacers cradle faceted green aventurine and serve as markers between the four quadrants of twenty seven. Instead of a tassel, this mala ends in a sterling clasp and a small BlackBird tag that falls softly down the spine when worn — a modern evolution of a traditional form.

This mala is luminous, elegant, and quietly powerful. A meditation you can wear.
