Tribal Sea Turtle Modern Mala in Bronze & Blue Calcite

The Sea Turtle has always felt like an ancient guide to. me... a quiet keeper of wisdom who moves through the world with patience and purpose. I carved this tribal Sea turtle with a spiraled back - a symbol of the long journey inward - and shaped the underside into a soft domed curve so your thumb can rest there as you breathe. A tactile reminder to return home to yourself. 

For this mala, I paired the bronze turtle with gemstones that echo the calm movement of water and the steady grounding of the earth. Natural blue calcite, with its soft sedimentary layers, brings a sense of clarity and gentle flow. I mixed larger cube beads with smaller rounds to create a rhythm in the strand, then added tiny faceted sodalite for depth and balance. The warm pecan toned wood beads ( with their dark walnut ring) bring an earth rooted warmth that ties the entire piece together. 

A traditional bronze guru bead sits gracefully above the pendant, and the mala finishes in a hand made silk tassel in deep ocean blue. 

108 beads divided into four sets of twenty seven are each hand selected and individually knotted on silk. This mala can be worn as adornment, used in meditation, or kept on your altar as a reminder that wisdom unfolds slowly...and that,like the sea turtle, you always find your way home.
